Is Isildur1 Viktor Blom – November 19th, 2009
Isildur1, the mystery player who has been depleting the bankrolls of some of the world’s best Internet players over the last few weeks (see previous OCR reports) had another successful night on the nosebleed tables at Full Tilt Monday amid growing speculation on his identity.
The consensus appears to be that Isildur is respected Swedish pro Viktor Blom, who usually plays online as ‘Blom90′, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Whoever he is, the player has power, again finishing the latest session against big boys like Patrik Antonius and David Benyamine in profit to the tune of almost $820 000, which boosts his earnings for 2009 thus far to an astonishing $5.4 million according to independent statistics site MarketPulse.
David Benyamine’s punishment at the hands of Isildur1 only added to his misfortunes and losses this year as he dropped $769 000 on the $300/$600 Pot-Limit Omaha virtual tables.
Antonius also took a beating, returning for another go at the mystery man and recouping around $200 000, but down overall by $579 000.
The only player to score against the nosebleed nemesis was Tom Dwan, who managed to end his clash up by $350 000, only to lose most of it elsewhere later in the evening, going home with ‘only’ $62 000.
