Poker Million The Masters 2005 Final – August 6th, 2005

Casino NewsWe are only a mere 13 days away from the eagerly anticipated live final of Poker Million The Masters 2005, with just two Poker Million Semi Final Heats to broadcast before the live Poker Million Final on 19th August.

This year a record amount of prize money is up for grabs, in part thanks to Ladbrokes Poker who are once again sponsoring the Poker Million Tournament. As a result the Ladbrokes Poker Million is officially the biggest televised poker tournament to be held in Europe, with a staggering 1st prize of $1,000,000.

In total the prize pool for this years Poker Million amounts to an impressive $1.7 million. Indeed the success of Pokermillion over the last couple of years has been the prime mover for the UK’s first dedicated Poker Channel on Sky Television.

The star of the Poker Million 2005 has undoubtedly been Helen ‘Hells Bells’ Chamberlain who has shown great Bouncebackabilty by winning the specially scheduled celebrity heat, directly followed by her first heat proper later in the afternoon on the same day. Helen presenter of Cult Sky Sports Soccer AM Programme is relatively new to the world of poker and has taken everyone by surprise and Pokermillion 2005 by storm.

Filming for Pokermillion started in 2005, with all 15 of the 16 heats including the semi finals taking place in March 2005. Broadcasting of the heats began weekly on Sky Sports in May with the final scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports on 19th August. Of the 72 finalists for this years Pokermillion, 66 players qualified online at Ladbrokes Poker.

Donnocha O’Dea is the 2004 Pokermillion Champion and EasyPlay.Vegas can confirm he has got through to the final later on this month. The big surprise other than Helen Chamberlain’s great progress, is that the King of the European Poker Scene, Dave ‘The Devilfish’ Ulliot, runner up in 2004, got knocked out in the early stages.
