Terminator 2 Slot – Review and Free Play
Terminator 2 is a film that most likely features in my top five films of all time, hence when it came to reviewing the Terminator 2 Slot Machine, I did so with some trepidation.
I love my films and I also love playing the slots and I so wanted this Slot Machine to do the film justice. The question is, have Microgaming dropped the ball, or have they come up with a slot classic worthy of this Arnold Schwarzenegger blockbuster?
Well in terms of bringing the film to life, the Terminator 2 slot features animated symbols depicting various parts of the film, the imagery is spot on and the theme music to the film resonates throughout whilst playing the slot.
All good so far. But would the gameplay do the film justice, would the slot hold my attention enough, to warrant it to be one of the go to slot machines to play upon logging into a Microgaming powered online casino? Announced by Microgaming and Studio Canal back in January 2014, the Terminator 2 Slot was showcased to the world at the annual ICE Totally Gaming Exhibition in London in February of the same year. With the slot finally being unleashed and released to those casinos featuring Microgaming Software in June 2014. Indeed Terminator 2 was the first of three Movie and TV tie-ins to be released by Microgaming during 2014. The others being the superb Game of Thrones Slot and the Jurassic Park Slot Machine.
Obviously targeting those 30 and 40 somethings that remember full well the release of the film, the Terminator 2 Slot utilises the 243 payline game engine developed by Microgaming, which has proven so successful over the past few years.
First impressions of Terminator 2 are that it is a low to medium variance slot, which means in layman terms is that you are unlikely to hit a life changing sum of money. However, the flip side to this, is that you are likely to get a good amount of game time for your bank roll. The bonus feature round which is achieved by hitting three or more scatters is a 10 free spin round which utilises a mammoth 1024 payline, this cannot be retriggered though.
The slot also encompasses a random bonus round which can occur after any non winning spin. This is called the T-800 Bonus and you enter an infra red screen mode ( See below ) and are awarded a cash prize for each of the top five paying symbols on show. If a scatter symbol is displayed you will also trigger the bonus round.
To be candid, Terminator 2 is not the best slot machine I have played, but it is worth trying out nonetheless, even if it is just the free play version here on OCR below.
